Job summary

Saputo, Inc. is seeking a wastewater treatment operator to operate and maintain treatment processes, perform sampling and QA/QC tests, and monitor SCADA systems.

The role supports safety, efficiency, and continuous plant operation with a focus on compliance and reliability. The position requires an associates degree or equivalent, up to 3–6 years of related experience, and the ability to perform measurements and operate heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing associate’s degree or equivalent from a 2-year or technical college.
• Likely 3–6 years of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, operate, and maintain pumps, blowers, mixers, chemical feed systems, membrane equipment, sludge dewatering equipment, and associated treatment processes.
• Collect samples, perform process control testing, record keeping, and basic laboratory analysis.
• Monitor SCADA and control systems; adjust pumps, valves, chemical feed rates, motor speeds, flow settings, and process setpoints.
• Perform routine rounds of the treatment facility and identify operational abnormalities or safety concerns.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
• Communicate operational status and changes during shift turnover to ensure continuous operation.
• Safely handle chemicals including polymers, disinfectants, coagulants, and nutrient removal chemicals.
• Follow safety, environmental, and company policies to maintain a safe workplace.
