Job summary

The Town of Front Royal is seeking Operators to join its Wastewater Treatment team. Entry level rate is $17.22/hour with training to obtain Class IV certification within the second year. The WWTP runs 24/7/365, offering a competitive salary based on experience and certifications.

Responsibilities include operating and maintaining plant equipment, monitoring gauges, collecting samples, and assisting with reports and preventive maintenance. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of WWTP operations and maintenance.
• Ability to monitor plant operations and adjust controls.
• Capacity to perform routine laboratory tests when required.
• Ability to keep accurate written records and reports.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a Wastewater Treatment Plant and related equipment.
• Monitor gauges, meters, and control panels; record readings.
• Calibrate meters and check equipment functions.
• Collect wastewater and sludge samples for testing.
• Regulate motors, pumps, blowers, valves to meet operating conditions.
• Assist in writing reports and maintaining logs.
• Unload and store chemical supplies; perform routine maintenance.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment and pumps.
• Work overtime as needed and support 24/7 operations.
