The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking a Water Pollution Control (WPC) Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and sustain safe, reliable wastewater services for the community.

The role focuses on managing plant operations, evaluating programs, coordinating with staff and leadership, and driving improvements to ensure efficient, safe operations and compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Associate's degree in Industrial Technology, Environmental Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, or Construction Management.
• 5–7 years' experience in wastewater treatment with supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population.

Aufgaben

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Cedar Rapids Wastewater Treatment Plant.
• Plan and monitor operating budgets and expenditures.
• Coordinate plant operations with contractors during capital projects.
• Coordinate safety programs and emergency response readiness.
• Develop purchasing specifications, RFPs, and related documents.
• Attend meetings and trainings, presenting recommendations and plans.
