Job summary

City of Lebanon is seeking a Chief Plant Operator to manage the wastewater treatment plant and lead a team of operators and maintenance staff in a compliant and efficient operation.

The role requires overseeing daily plant operations, enforcing safety, optimizing performance through data analysis, and coordinating with management on capital and regulatory projects. On-call duties and rotating shifts are anticipated.

Qualifications

• Must hold Grade 4 WWTP certification or obtain within 18 months.
• Requires high school diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Experience supervising operators and maintenance staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of wastewater treatment plant ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Supervises and trains plant operators and maintenance staff.
• Enforces safety protocols and emergency response plans.
• Maintains operating procedures and maintenance schedules.
• Analyzes data to optimize plant performance and implement improvements.
• Collaborates with management on capital projects and regulatory compliance.
• Performs technical and administrative tasks including reports and records.
• May work rotating shifts and be on-call for emergencies.
