Job summary

American Water Works Association in Palm Bay, FL, invites applications for a supervisory wastewater plant operations role. You will direct safe and efficient plant operations, oversight of industrial waste sampling, and laboratory analysis, reporting to the Assistant Utilities Director.

A sign-on bonus is offered with local or relocating options. The position requires six years in wastewater plant operations, three years of supervisory experience, and a Class A operator certificate.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with six years of wastewater plant operations experience.
• Three years of supervisory experience required.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and good driving record.
• Class A wastewater treatment plant operator certification from Florida DEP.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the North Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant per EPA and Florida DEP rules.
• Plan, assign, direct and supervise plant personnel in operation and maintenance activities.
• Oversee laboratory operations and required tests/analyses.
• Prepare reports and maintain operating permits and regulatory submissions.
• Manage personnel matters including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
