Job summary

City of Tyler is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to support treatment plant operations by performing manual labor and assisting with maintenance and repair of plant equipment.

You will help with cleaning, groundskeeping, and routine upkeep of pumps, motors, valves, and piping, while following safety guidelines and maintaining equipment records. The role reports to senior operators and requires the ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in various conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in manual labor is preferred.
• Utilities experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labor tasks such as cleaning, groundskeeping, and material handling.
• Assist in routine maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, valves, piping, and other plant equipment.
• Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance projects.
• Operate basic hand and power tools; use a computer for basic functions.
• Support installation and calibration of equipment and instrumentation; document maintenance activities.
