Job summary

The City of Attleboro Wastewater Treatment Plant seeks a Maintenance repairman who, under the supervision of the Superintendent and foreman, is responsible for maintenance and repair of all equipment and vehicles at the plant including sewer lift stations.

Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing pumps, piping, valves, motors, and chlorinating equipment; greasing and repacking; operating machinery; keeping logs; and possibly supervising a small crew.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years’ municipal wastewater facility experience with vehicle and instrument repairs required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of wastewater plant equipment.
• Welding experience helpful.
• Ability to communicate and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs pumps, piping, valves, motors, and chlorinating equipment.
• Greases, oils, and repacks pumps and other machinery.
• Operates machinery for maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Keeps logs of all work on equipment.
• May supervise a small crew on a project.
• Participates in snow and ice program.
