Job summary

Brunswick County Public Utilities is seeking a Utility Plant Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance and preventative maintenance for wastewater treatment plants. The role focuses on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components to ensure properly treated wastewater.

You will repair, rebuild, install, test, operate, and troubleshoot machinery, assist with inventories, respond to emergencies, and advance through the NC certification ladder with paid training. Valid driver license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver License required.
• NC AWWA Maintenance Technologist certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Repair, rebuild, disassemble, reassemble, install, test, operate, and troubleshoot machinery (hydraulic/electrical/mechanical).
• Maintain wastewater treatment equipment and related systems.
• Document repairs and inspections.
• Assist with maintenance of parts inventories, tool inventories, and preventive maintenance documentation.
• Respond to emergency repair calls as required.
