Job summary

The City of Lancaster is seeking a Supervising Water/Wastewater Crew Leader to oversee field crews in the operation and maintenance of the city’s water and wastewater systems. You will log work orders, manage installations and repairs, and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include training staff, coordinating with the Foreman, and being available for 24/7 on-call duty as needed.

Qualifications

• Require high school diploma or GED.
• Hold valid Texas Class B CDL and water/wastewater licenses or obtain within 1 year.
• Experience supervising field crews in water/wastewater operations.
• Ability to log work orders, leaks, and main breaks; maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise 1–4 field personnel in water/wastewater work.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, repair, or replacement of mains and services.
• Respond to customer complaints about leaks or sewage stoppages.
• Train employees in operation, maintenance, and repair of water systems.
• Assist foreman; coordinate on-call and after-hours response.
