Job summary

Columbia is seeking a Wastewater Operator Trainee to assist in gathering process control samples and regulatory reporting. This position involves indoor and outdoor work, exposure to dirt and chemicals, and adherence to safety guidelines. You will support daily operations in the treatment plant and help maintain equipment.

High school diploma or GED is required, plus a valid driver’s license. Ability to obtain Class III Waste Water License within 12 months of schooling is required; a combination

Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or GED is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to obtain Class III Waste Water License within 12 months of finishing the required schooling.
• A combination of education and/or work experience may be substituted for minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the Collection of daily wastewater samples for process control and Regulatory reporting.
• Assist in recording plant data information into the computer.
• Assist in performing some preventative maintenance on the treatment system equipment.
• Cleaning of all buildings, grounds, vehicles and process equipment assigned to the employee within the treatment plant.
• Assist in Checking all process equipment daily to verify that it is operating properly.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
