King County's Wastewater Treatment Division seeks an Operator/Sr. Operator for the South Plant in Renton.

The role involves daily operation and monitoring of a level 4 plant, leadership of a crew, and collaboration on capital projects to ensure clean water and public health. Ideal candidates hold WA State Group I certification or equivalent, with strong knowledge of treatment processes and the ability to work rotating shifts and be on call when needed.

Qualifications

• WA State Group I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and plant systems.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment processes and equipment.
• Lead and coordinate shift activities, training, and on-site responses.
• Troubleshoot, optimize performance, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist in capital projects and provide technical guidance to staff.
