Job summary

City of Meridian is seeking a Wastewater Operator to perform basic plant operational activities, rounds, equipment service, cleaning and troubleshooting at a Class IV advanced tertiary wastewater treatment facility. You will implement operating procedures and ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental requirements.

This role requires a High School diploma, Idaho driver’s license, and the ability to obtain an Idaho Class I Wastewater Operator license or OIT within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience at a Wastewater Treatment Facility is desired.
• Possession of an Idaho Class I Wastewater Treatment Operator license or OIT, or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic plant operations such as rounds, equipment service, cleaning and basic troubleshooting.
• Operate and inspect a Class IV advanced tertiary wastewater treatment plant to ensure optimum efficiency.
• Implement operating procedures and ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental requirements.
• Evaluate and adjust operational control settings with independence and good judgment.
• Work as part of a Wastewater Operators team with limited supervision.
