The City of Meridian is recruiting Water Operator I or II to maintain and repair its potable and reclaimed water distribution systems. Responsibilities include installation, operation, and service support for Meridian Utility Billing Services.

Qualifications

• Water Operator I: High school graduate; 1 year progressive experience in water production/treatment, distribution, and customer service.
• Water Operator II: High school graduate or GED; 3 years progressive experience in water production/treatment, distribution, and customer service.
• Licenses: Class I Water Distribution Operators License within 1 year; Class A CDL within 18 months; Idaho driver’s license with clean record.
• Additional safety training: Confined space entry, CPR/AED, ICS, Fall protection, Flagger/Traffic Safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate, install, maintain and repair City of Meridian potable and reclaimed water distribution systems.
• Provide customer service support for Meridian Utility Billing Services (MUBS) and assist other departments as needed.
• Work under supervision to support maintenance, operations, projects and technical activities in the Water Division.

Together, let's shape a brighter future for our community!Water Operator I Salary: $25.33 per hour, DOEWater Operator II Salary: $27.81 per hour, DOEJob Summary:The Water Operator I or II’s primary responsibilities are to demonstrate and perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of the City of Meridian’s potable and reclaimed water distribution systems. This classification performs a full range of basic and intermediate activities that include, but are not limited to operation, installation, maintenance and repair of the City of Meridian’s potable and recycled water distribution systems, handling customer related issues, and performing needed customer service activities for Meridian Utility Billing Services (MUBS). Continually strives to maintain and improve operations and accuracy. The incumbent must perform work safely, efficiently, and accurately, occasionally under adverse conditions. Provide assistance and support to the Meridian Utility Billing Services (MUBS) and other Departments when needed. Expected to exercise initiative and independent judgment both individually, and as part of a team, in assisting with maintenance, operations, projects and technical related activities of the Water Division.
