Job summary

The City of Meridian is seeking a Wastewater Operator to run a Class IV advanced tertiary plant, performing rounds, equipment service, cleaning and basic troubleshooting. You will implement operating procedures to meet environmental rules, using independent judgment within a team of operators.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent; previous wastewater facility experience is preferred. Idaho driver's license and the ability to obtain a Class I license within 12 months are

Salary: $25.33

Job Summary

This position performs basic plant operational activities such as rounds, equipment service, equipment cleaning, and basic troubleshooting. This position is responsible for the operation of a Class IV advanced tertiary wastewater treatment plant. This role is responsible for implementing the operating procedures of the City of Meridian's Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility, ensuring compliance with all local, federal and state environmental requirements. This position is directly responsible for evaluating and changing operational control settings with considerable independence. Operates and inspects facility to ensure that equipment is performing at optimal efficiency. This position works as part of a team of Wastewater Operators. Work is performed under general oversight and requires independent judgment, forward thinking and initiative.

Job Specifications

Must have a High School diploma or equivalent; Experience at a Wastewater Treatment Facility is desired.

Licensing & Certifications

Must hold a valid State of Idaho Driver's License and safe driving record; Possession of an Idaho Class I Wastewater Treatment Operator license or OIT, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
