Job summary

The City of Meridian is seeking a Wastewater Operator to perform basic plant operations at our advanced tertiary facility. You will conduct rounds, assist with equipment servicing, cleaning, and simple troubleshooting to keep the Class IV plant running safely and efficiently.

Work as part of a team and apply independent judgment to adjust control settings within procedures while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental requirements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience at a Wastewater Treatment Facility is desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform rounds, equipment service, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting.
• Operate and inspect the Class IV advanced tertiary wastewater treatment plant.
• Implement operating procedures and adjust control settings with independence.
• Work as part of a Wastewater Operators team, ensuring regulatory compliance.

Salary: $25.33

Job Summary:

This position performs basic plant operational activities such as rounds, equipment service, equipment cleaning, and basic troubleshooting. This position is responsible for the operation of a Class IV advanced tertiary wastewater treatment plant. This role is responsible for implementing the operating procedures of the City of Meridian’s Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility, ensuring compliance with all local, federal and state environmental requirements. This position is directly responsible for evaluating and changing operational control settings with considerable independence. Operates and inspects facility to ensure that equipment is performing at optimal efficiency. This position works as part of a team of Wastewater Operators. Work is performed under general oversight and requires independent judgment, forward thinking and initiative.

Job Specifications:

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent;
• Experience at a Wastewater Treatment Facility is desired.

Licensing & Certifications:

• Must hold a valid State of Idaho Driver’s License and safe driving record;
• Possession of an Idaho Class I Wastewater Treatment Operator license or OIT, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
