Job summary

StartupNWA seeks a Wastewater Operator to support daily discharge operations at an on-site facility in Arkansas. The role emphasizes accurate chemical dosing, routine testing, sample handling, and adherence to safety and quality guidelines.

The operator will perform BOD, TSS, oil/grease, and pH tests, collect samples, and coordinate weekly system cleaning and chemical orders. State wastewater licensing and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain wastewater license as per state requirements.
• Must have computer skills.
• Ability to work in wet, cold, and hot conditions and tolerate temperature extremes.

Responsibilities

• Applies the correct chemicals in the amounts to the water; makes a chemical feed or air adjustment as needed based on test results and daily evaluation.
• Performs tests for biological oxygen demand, total suspended solids, oil, grease, and the pH level.
• Takes water samples regularly and ships them to the testing facility as required.
• Completes weekly cleaning of the system; orders chemicals as needed.
• Participates with the team to uphold BEST practices and supports organizational policies.
