The City of Surprise is seeking incumbents for semi-skilled roles in water reclamation facilities. Responsibilities include compliance sampling, laboratory analyses, and equipment inspection. Candidates must have a high school diploma and relevant experience. Certifications are required.
Incumbents perform semi-skilled activities related to the operation of water reclamation facilities, including bio solids handling, disinfection processes, reclaimed water systems, and recharge basins and wells. They are responsible for complying with regulations and permit conditions. Responsibilities include taking compliance samples, performing laboratory analyses, inspecting equipment, performing minor maintenance, and maintaining records.
High school diploma or GED required. Preferred candidates will have at least one year of wastewater utilities and/or laboratory-related experience.
Must possess a valid Arizona Driver License and a valid Arizona Grade 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification at the time of hire. Additionally, a valid Arizona Grade 1 Wastewater Collection System Operator certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
