Job Summary:

The Water Treatment role reports to the Regional Manager and provides leadership and support to park staff. Responsibilities include overseeing, assigning, reviewing, and participating in the work of staff responsible for developing and implementing standards and training for safe water and wastewater treatment operations. The position ensures park facilities operate in accordance with ADEQ requirements, prepares necessary regulatory compliance documents, and trains staff accordingly.

Job Duties:
  • Provide direct operations and supervision for daily park water and wastewater plant operations.
  • Ensure safe, compliant potable water supply for park operations and report to the Park Manager.
  • Perform daily wastewater treatment functions to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Operate valves, pumps, control panels, and plant equipment.
  • Maintain and repair treatment equipment as needed.
  • Handle chemicals for disinfection and treatment processes.
  • Conduct testing, recordkeeping, and submit compliance reports.
  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies, utilizing procurement portals.
  • Supervise staff and assist in administrative responsibilities.
  • Ensure staff materials are current and compliant with regulations from ADEQ, AWWA, BOR, NPDES, etc.
  • Coordinate staffing to meet facility needs, including supervision, customer service, maintenance, and landscaping.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment operations, safety, security, and regulations. Skilled in communication, problem-solving, supervision, and building professional relationships. Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and handle emergency situations effectively.

Selective Preference(s):

Two years of water plant experience, including leadership roles, or relevant education and training.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Possess and maintain Level 2 Certification from ADEQ in Water Treatment, Waste Water Treatment, Water Distribution, and Waste Water Collections. Valid driver’s license required. All new hires must complete E-Verify.
