Job summary

Michigan Milk Producers Association (MMPA) seeks a Wastewater Supervisor to oversee the safe, efficient operation of its wastewater treatment facility in Constantine, Michigan. The role leads operators, ensures environmental compliance, and drives continuous improvement across processes that support plant operations.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in industrial wastewater treatment, and a state certification or ability to obtain it.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of industrial wastewater treatment experience.
• Experience with biological wastewater treatment processes.
• Michigan Industrial Wastewater Operator Certification, or ability to obtain within established timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily operation and monitoring of the wastewater treatment system.
• Ensure permits and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain records, sampling, testing, and reporting activities.
• Supervise, coach, and develop wastewater operators.
• Support operator training, certification, and workforce development.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Environmental teams to support reliable wastewater operations.
• Participate in capital projects, equipment upgrades, and system improvements.
• Respond to operational upsets, environmental incidents, and emergency situations as needed.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities.
