Job summary

The City of Houston seeks a Supervising Engineer to lead wastewater collection system condition assessment and preventive maintenance programs. You will oversee sewer cleaning, CCTV inspections, GIS data updates, and contract management while coordinating with internal teams to improve workflows in compliance with Consent Decree requirements.

You will supervise engineers and technical staff, review work, and provide technical guidance, supporting cross‑departmental projects and performance

Qualifications

Requires graduation from an approved engineering curriculum with licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or eligibility.
Six years of active engineering practice post-graduation, with at least one year as a PE.
Substitution: Master's degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

Manage wastewater collection system condition assessment and preventive maintenance programs.
Coordinate data, GIS updates, inspections, and contract management.
Track program performance and KPIs and support reporting.
Supervise engineering staff and provide technical guidance across teams.
