Job summary

Careers In Government, Inc. is seeking a Supervising Engineer for the Houston Water/Wastewater Operations/Collection System Engineering team.

The role focuses on condition assessment, preventive maintenance, and contract management for sewer cleaning, CCTV, and manhole inspections. You will coordinate data, GIS updates, and reporting under Consent Decree requirements, while guiding technical staff and improving workflows with new technologies.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in engineering with standing from an approved program.
• Six (6) years of active engineering practice after graduation; one year as a Professional Engineer.
• Texas PE license required; specific branch may be required.

Responsibilities

• Manage wastewater collection system condition assessment and preventive maintenance programs.
• Coordinate GIS and asset data updates and support reporting.
• Oversee contracts for cleaning, televising, and data processing; track performance and KPIs.
• Supervise engineering staff and provide technical guidance to Wastewater Operations teams.
