Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; 5 years in industrial waste inspections, wastewater monitoring, and/or compliance; 3 years in leadership or management.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Licenses/certifications: Georgia Driver's License; Class 1 Wastewater Operator License; GACE certification or ability to obtain; Wastewater Lab Analyst/Operator certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates department activities for Water Reclamation Center, Water Quality Control Facilities, CSO systems, and pumping stations.
• Directs plant maintenance and operations to meet water quality standards set by state and federal agencies.
• Implements on-job training and updates procedures for staff.
• Reviews reports and control information to ensure permit compliance.
• Assists with hiring, performance appraisals, and safety issues.
• Interacts with safety coordinator and addresses employee concerns.
• Prepares maintenance schedules and prioritizes equipment upgrades.
• Produces reports for state authorities and conducts plant tours as needed.
