Job summary

The City of Owasso is hiring a Wastewater Maintenance Technician I for the Public Works—Wastewater Treatment Plant. The role performs skilled maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems under the Utility Superintendent, with safety-sensitive duties and no supervisory responsibilities.

Salary ranges from $17.63 to $22.04 per hour, based on DEQ license, CDL, and relevant experience. City offers training to obtain required licenses and benefits as described.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• SCBA certifiable.
• One year experience in electrical and mechanical industrial maintenance.
• One year of college or technical training in electronics or electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical work responsibilities.
• Inspect, adjust, lubricate, and replace worn parts; install equipment.
• Conduct maintenance inspections using standard troubleshooting techniques.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts for repairs and maintenance.
• Ensure grounds around lift stations and storage tanks are secure and presentable.
• Assist Wastewater Treatment Plant with laboratory analysis and sludge management.
• Operate large city vehicles for work duties.
• Respond to customer concerns and requests in a timely manner.
