Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Waste Water Operator to install, repair and maintain large industrial textile processing equipment and monitor wastewater treatment processes. You will handle start-up/shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, boilers, hydraulics, and other systems, reporting to the Chief Engineer.

The role requires a driver’s license, at least two years in maintenance engineering, and favorable experience in wastewater treatment.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Minimum 2 years maintenance engineering experience with machinery, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, boiler applications.
Preferred wastewater treatment experience.
Proficient in using power and hand tools.
Strong 3-phase 230V electrical troubleshooting ability.
PLC programming experience.
Experience in carpentry, boiler repair, welding, and general facility repairs.
Good verbal and written English communication; ability to follow directions and manage time.

Responsibilities

Perform sampling, monitoring, and testing to comply with wastewater regulations.
Install, repair, and maintain industrial processing equipment and water systems.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and respond to maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and diagnose problems with parts replacement.
Study blueprints and manuals and read electrical schematics to ensure proper operation.
Possibly on-call for emergencies and weekend plant checks.
