Job summary

City of Lincoln & Lancaster County is seeking a Maintenance Operator I to support wastewater treatment facilities and remote pumping stations. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, problem-solving, and teamwork to keep operations safe and efficient.

Shift is full-time, Monday–Friday, 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of maintenance experience, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of maintenance/repair experience.
• Ability to operate and maintain a variety of equipment.
• Willingness to follow safety procedures and work with PPE.

Responsibilities

• Perform or assist with mechanical and physical maintenance across facilities and pumping stations.
• Install, repair, service, and troubleshoot equipment used in wastewater operations.
• Document labor, materials, and activities in the CMMS.
• Communicate equipment status and maintenance needs with staff.
• Respond to emergencies and non-scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Perform grounds and site maintenance including snow removal, mowing, and trimming.
