Job summary

The City of Gainesville is hiring a Lift Station Technician to operate daily water resources lift stations and ensure wastewater is pumped to treatment facilities. You will inspect stations, report issues, and maintain accurate records in ESRI GIS and CMMS systems.

You will monitor generators and fuel levels, perform semi-annual wet well drawdown tests, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards across all lift stations and water pumping facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in lift station operations and maintenance preferred but not required.
• Technical school diploma in related field preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate daily the Water Resources lift stations to ensure wastewater is pumped to treatment plants.
• Inspect lift stations and pumping stations; report issues and document findings in ESRI GIS software.
• Monitor generators and fuel levels; notify supervisor when fueling is needed.
• Record pump run-time data in ESRI GIS software and keep asset records in CMMS.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of stations and comply with safety rules.
