Job summary

Tate & Lyle PLC seeks a WWTP lab technician to perform physical tests on samples from the WWTP and production facility, with night shifts, holidays, and weekends on a 12-hour schedule. Accurate testing and reporting are essential.

Responsibilities include labeling, sample preparation, chemical handling, calibration, and compliance tasks, while maintaining safety and EHSQ standards across shifts in Oklahoma.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED Required.
• Associate’s degree Preferred.
• Must qualify to obtain and hold proper certification from Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality.
• A minimum of one-year prior wastewater treatment plant work experience is preferred.
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position.
• Must be able to learn basic computer skills.
• Must have demonstrated the ability to learn to perform the duties of the position in a reasonable amount of time.

Responsibilities

• Works independently to retrieve and properly label samples.
• Prepares samples by following documented procedures.
• Must have physical ability to manipulate 5-gallon containers of liquid weighing approximately 40 pounds 30 feet and locate on shelves 6 feet above the floor.
• Required to utilize acids and bases and other commonly used chemicals in the laboratory.
• Required to calibrate equipment and maintain accurate records.
• Tests wastewater samples.
• Perform physical and analytical tests on samples including UASB, SBR, Final Effluent, and impoundments.
• Must be able to coordinate work responsibilities independently and report timely and accurate results.
• Generally, WWTP lab technician responsibilities require up to 10 hours of each shift to be spent on your feet.
• In addition, the job requires manual dexterity to make fine measurements with lab equipment, basic math skills to calculate test results, and the ability to learn basic computer skills.
