Job summary

Phillips Staffing is recruiting for a Wastewater Treatment Operator in Pendleton, SC. You will operate and maintain wastewater and water filtration systems, perform sampling and testing, and ensure compliance with the SC DES permit.

The role carries rotating 12-hour shifts, weekend/holiday availability, and on-site duties. Ideal candidates hold an SC Biological Wastewater Operator License and can work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• SC Biological Wastewater Operator License (A, B, C or D) required.
• Excellent attendance and willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Mobile Equipment License or willingness to obtain training.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Moderate mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment and systems.
• Valid SC driver's license for on-site vehicle operation.
• Physically capable of demanding tasks and safe industrial work.
• Able to read and follow written procedures and instructions.
• Strong math, area/volume calculations and unit conversions.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and speed.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot the wastewater treatment plant and related equipment.
• Operate and monitor the water filter plant including pumps, tanks, and filters.
• Monitor air compressor area for reliable operation.
• Perform wastewater sampling and testing (TSS, COD, nitrogen, etc.).
• Collect and ship samples to laboratories per permit and procedures.
• Conduct rounds, track readings, and maintain records of plant operations.
• Ensure compliance with SC DES NPDES permit.
• Participate in fire and environmental emergency response activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Utilities area.
• Follow company safety procedures and participate in safety programs.
