Job summary

The City of Lynchburg's Water Resources Department Wastewater Treatment Plant seeks a Driver/Operator to operate hooklift/rolloff trucks and dump trailers, transporting wastewater solids between the plant and disposal facilities.

You will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and assist with plant operations. Required: High school diploma or equivalent, Virginia Class A CDL, and IS-100/IS-700 training within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent and considerable experience operating heavy motorized equipment.
• Possession of a valid Virginia Class A commercial license.
• Background checks required including pre-employment drug screen.
• IS-100 and IS-700 National Incident Management training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operates 5/6 axle road tractor with dump trailer and 3/4 axle hooklift/roll-off truck to transport wastewater solids.
• Coordinates loads with facility staff to ensure timely dispatch.
• Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and equipment.
