Job summary

Chesterfield County Department of Utilities seeks a Principal Plant Operator for the Wastewater Treatment section. You will operate treatment processes, monitor SCADA, log trends, and troubleshoot with the team to meet regulations and department goals.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, a high school diploma or GED, and passing the class 3 wastewater exam within one year. The position is Safety Sensitive and offers comprehensive benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; equivalent training/experience accepted.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Safety Sensitive position with drug/alcohol testing; valid driver's license and good driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Operate process equipment and systems in wastewater treatment.
• Monitor SCADA and log daily process trends.
• Adjust process control instrumentation and inspect dosing pumps.
• Assist in maintenance projects and ensure safety policies are followed.
