City of Charlotte is seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist for the Charlotte Water Department. The role conducts inspections, reviews regulations, collects wastewater samples, analyzes data, and writes permits to prevent inhibition and pass-through at treatment plants.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in science, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, or related field.
• 3 years of related work experience, preferably in industrial plants or wastewater.
• Experience with industrial pretreatment programs and regulatory compliance.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for pretreatment and industrial waste.
• Perform inspections of industrial facilities and write permits accordingly.
• Collect samples, evaluate results, and educate businesses on standards.
• Develop orders and enforcement actions as needed and assist with training.
• Support ISO and other continuous improvement efforts in environmental compliance.
