Job summary

Charleston Water System is seeking an Industrial Pretreatment Program & Laboratory Manager to oversee the IWPP and the Environmental Resources laboratory, ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate data reporting.

This role supervises staff, manages budgets, maintains the process database, and coordinates lab and pretreatment activities across multiple facilities. A BS in a related science and relevant licenses, plus several years in wastewater labs, are required.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or related field.
• 16 semester hours of chemistry classes.
• Must possess SC A Biological Wastewater Treatment Operator License within two years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year pretreatment experience; 3 years lab experience in wastewater treatment with QA/QC.

Responsibilities

• Supervise IWPP and laboratory administration and reporting.
• Submit budgets for IWPP and Process Lab requirements.
• Ensure compliance with DHEC, EPA, NPDES reporting.
• Maintain WIM process database.
• Provide training and cross-training across facilities.
• Assist during emergencies.
