Job summary

City of Alabaster seeks a Wastewater Collections Operator 1C to assist in operating pump stations, sewer mains, and CCTV inspections, ensuring uninterrupted flow to the treatment plant. This role requires a valid Alabama driver’s license and IC certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Alabama driver’s license.
• Valid Alabama Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade I or IC certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pump stations, sewer mains, and manholes.
• Perform sewer camera inspections and log results with accurate records.
• Respond to citizen requests involving sewer problems.
• Operate equipment and perform routine maintenance using hand and power tools.
• Monitor systems by reading gauges, graphs, meters, and control panels.
• Obtain material estimates and make purchases as required.
• Assist with maintaining City facilities including minor building repairs and mowing as needed.
