Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent as recognized by US standards.
• 6 months recent utility installation, repair and inspection experience preferred, involving water/sewer systems.
• A valid driver license and, within 120 days, a Class A CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists a crew in construction, repair, and maintenance of sanitary sewer and/or water distribution lines.
• Assists in cleaning rights-of-way to ensure access to main lines, force mains, and manholes.
• Assists in inspection and maintenance of manholes, meters, pumping stations, hydrants, and taps.
• Performs cuts in asphalt/streets for repairs or new lines.
• Interacts with customers to exchange information and resolve problems; checks for leaks and odors.
• Locates underground utilities and monitors SCADA for issues.
• Ensures work follows ALDOT and safety guidelines; responds to emergencies and documents FEMA events.
