Job summary

The City of Scottsdale is seeking a Wastewater Collections Manager to lead a diverse team responsible for maintaining and advancing the city’s wastewater collection and treatment operations. You will champion safety, regulatory excellence, and sustainable practices while delivering reliable service to residents.

The role emphasizes leadership in operations and maintenance, compliance with regulations, and a focus on innovative, safe, and efficient processes within a city-owned system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Water Technology, Biology, Chemistry or Management from an accredited institution.
• Five years of operation and maintenance experience in a large wastewater collection system and related facilities.
• Experience with advanced computerized systems used for control and monitoring of facilities.
• At least one year of Lead or Supervisory experience.
• Equivalent education/experience acceptable; preferred: five years of lead/supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection system and treatment maintenance areas.
• Ensure compliance with Local, State and Federal requirements.
• Lead safety initiatives and foster regulatory excellence.
• Direct mechanical maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities.
