Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or closely-related field, plus four years in water/wastewater, project management, or related engineering roles.
• ADEQ Grade 4 Wastewater or Water Treatment Plant Operator Certification may substitute for the degree.
• Four years of experience with supervision may substitute for degree.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and manages the activities of professional and technical personnel engaged in wastewater process operations.
• Coordinates engineering evaluations with city/county departments, utilities, firms, and agencies.
• Analyzes treatment processes and ensures compliance with laws and guidelines.
• Develops wastewater process control policies and standards.
• Develops process improvements and writes technical reports and white papers.
• Prepares reports and proposals for new projects.
• Responds to public information requests and resolves complaints.
• Advises on wastewater design, process control, odor control, energy use, and system troubleshooting.
• Trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned personnel.
