Job summary

The City of Mesquite, TX is seeking a Maintenance Worker II - Wastewater Collection to perform a wide variety of general maintenance activities including installing, maintaining and repairing concrete, asphalt, drainage, water pipes and sewer pipes; and to provide support to the public and City departments and divisions.

The posting notes supervision by a Crew Chief and Utilities Supervisor, a Monday–Friday schedule 7:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma/GED.
• Requires six (6) months experience in general labor operating motorized equipment or hand tools similar to that used in water distribution and/or wastewater collection.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and repair/install concrete, asphalt and drainage structures, water and wastewater pipes and appurtenances.
• Inspect and repair water and wastewater piping and control infiltration problems.
• Assist division staff, maintain daily work logs and adhere to safety regulations.
