Job summary

City of Laredo is seeking a maintenance worker to help keep the wastewater collection system in good condition. The role involves repairing pipes, rehab of manholes, and performing related tasks in outdoor and field environments.

Applicants must have at least one year of general work experience, with preferred experience in construction, plumbing, or mechanical maintenance. A Texas driver license is required for City business usage.

Qualifications

• At least one year of general work experience. Construction, plumbing or mechanical maintenance/repair experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter confined spaces with respiratory equipment to perform repairs.
• Inspect conditions of manholes and assess safety in the work area.
• Drive a City vehicle for City business use as required.
• Assist in repairing manholes with concrete and epoxy.
• Assist in installing pipe patches and in smoke testing of sewer lines.
• Maintain communication with staff, visitors, and other contacts.
• Perform other related duties as required.
