Job summary

Seminole County is seeking a supervised Collection Technician to support the wastewater collection system's installation, maintenance, operation and repair. The role involves a variety of duties and requires a valid Florida CDL Class A within six months.

Salary starts at $18.00 per hour with additional compensation based on licensure. Candidates will perform routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs while adhering to safety standards and completing required paperwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and one year of experience in electrical, hydraulic or mechanical work related to wastewater collections systems.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License, Class A with Tanker endorsement, or obtain within six months.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment including backhoe, ditch-witch, front-end loader and other similar equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and maps and follow written instructions.
• Must be able to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and attend required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist other staff or work independently in maintenance, repair and construction of wastewater collections systems.
• Inspect lift stations or diagnose problems and perform repairs not requiring a Collections Mechanic.
• Operate small maintenance equipment and perform preventive maintenance on lift stations and ARVs following SOP procedures.
• Complete required field paperwork and document work performed in log books or work order system.
• Adhere to safety standards and maintain safety equipment and related records.
