Job summary

Englewood Water District in Englewood, FL seeks a Wastewater Collections Maintenance Tech Trainee (or Certified) to support the wastewater collection system maintenance. This entry-level role involves assisting with installation and repair work in streets and easements.

You will follow safety procedures, operate basic tools and data entry devices, respond to emergencies on-call, and complete tasks under supervision; a valid Florida driver's license is required and CDL within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and assist with repairing and installing sewer laterals and mains.
• Assist with Airvac collection system repairs and installation.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting of lift stations and Airvac panels.
• Assist with reclaimed water distribution system repairs and installation.
• Report safety hazards and needed repairs to managers.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance.
• Input data on work orders using electronic devices.
• Operate hand and power tools and perform excavation tasks.
• Maintain general housekeeping and orderly work areas.
• Follow oral and written directions from supervisor.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies within 30 minutes during on-call duty.
