Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Science, Biology, or other related discipline.
• Five years experience managing operational activities and regulatory requirements for a large-scale wastewater collection system operation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates CMOM programs for wastewater collections per state and federal laws.
• Monitors compliance with state and federal regulations and county policies.
• Develops and submits reports to the EPA and EPD on wastewater collection system compliance.
• Acts as department liaison with regulatory agencies regarding CMOM programs and advises senior management of changes in state and federal regulations.
• Establishes and tracks performance measures and key performance indicators for department activities and reporting.
• Confers with the Director and senior management to improve operational efficiency.
• Provides support and technical expertise to management and staff for department effectiveness.
• Manages inspection and compliance with wastewater regulations and permits, including FOG Program.
• Develops preventive maintenance plans to reduce FOG in the system.
• Receives and investigates complaints and prepares responses for Director review.
• Develops training plans for Watershed Management employees regarding CMOM programs.
• Assists in sanitary sewer overflow investigations and prevention.
• Reviews capacity management and assurance adequacy.
