DeKalb County Government seeks a shift supervisor for water and wastewater facilities to ensure compliant operation of treatment, distribution, and collection systems. The role is safety sensitive and requires adherence to federal, state, and local requirements.

You will lead staff, monitor plant performance, and coordinate with engineers and contractors while maintaining accurate records and data in departmental systems.

Qualifications

• Six years experience as a plant operator including two years as a Class I operator.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Georgia Class I Water or Wastewater Operator License.
• Equivalent education, training, and experience considered.

Responsabilités

• Supervises staff, conducts performance appraisals, and supports career development.
• Performs daily rounds and coordinates maintenance response with foreman.
• Ensures compliance with EPD/EPA regulations and monitors contractors.
• Trains staff in safe equipment operation and preventative maintenance.
• Maintains records, logs, and coordinates with vendors for supplies.
• Collaborates with engineers on plant efficiency and improvements.
• Manages crew workload and procurement for plant operations.

Formation

High school diploma or GED

Georgia driver’s license

State of Georgia Class I Water or Wastewater Operator License
