Job summary

Texas Disposal Systems is seeking a Transfer Driver to transport waste and recycling from transfer stations to designated landfills and the MRF. Operate a tractor-trailer safely, comply with trucking regulations, and provide courteous service to customers.

The role requires Class A license, clean driving record, and ability to work nights/weekends. Responsibilities include inspections, route documentation, and using onboard systems; on-site safety and professionalism are essential.

Qualifications

• At least one year of Class A tractor and trailer experience.
• Available to work scheduled shifts, including nights, holidays and weekends.
• Excellent heavy truck driving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to demonstrate proficient use of electronic technology within eight weeks of hire date.
• Ability to understand and execute work orders communicated via onboard technology.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway signs and write reports.

Responsibilities

• Report to work at designated time in company uniform and with required PPE.
• Drive tractor with capacity of 10 tons to transport materials to destinations.
• Maintain radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor for instructions.
• Maneuver and operate vehicle safely in on-site and road conditions.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and ensure required paperwork is onboard.
• Collect route data and report changes to dispatcher.
• Use the on-board computer to enter route and load data.
• Ensure cab cleanliness and submit Vehicle Condition Report daily.
• Track DOT hours of service and report potential non-compliance.
• Report moving violations or accidents to supervisor within 72 hours.
• Maintain valid Medical Card and Driver’s License.
• Other duties as assigned.
