Job summary

Texas Disposal Systems seeks a Transfer Driver to move waste and recycling from transfer stations to landfills and a Material Recovery Facility. You will operate a tractor-trailer safely and follow all trucking and waste regulations while delivering courteous service.

Requirements include a Texas Class A CDL, at least one year of tractor-trailer experience, and ability to work nights/weekends. The role emphasizes safety, on-board tech use, and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• At least one year of Class A tractor and trailer experience.
• Available to work scheduled shifts, including nights, holidays and weekends.
• Excellent heavy truck driving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal or no supervision.
• Ability to demonstrate proficient use of electronic technology within eight weeks of hire date.
• Ability to understand and execute work orders communicated via onboard technology.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway signs, and complete reports.

Responsibilities

• Report to work at designated time in company uniform and with required PPE.
• Drive tractor with capacity of 10 tons to transport material to destinations.
• Maintain radio/telephone contact with base or supervisor.
• Maneuver vehicle safely in on-site and over-the-road conditions.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and verify paperwork.
• Document route changes and report issues to dispatcher.
• Use on-board computer to enter route and load data.
• Keep cab clean and submit Vehicle Condition Report daily.
• Track DOT hours of service and report any non-compliance.
• Report moving violations or incidents to supervisor within 72 hours.
• Maintain valid Medical Card and Driver’s License.
• Other duties as assigned.
