Job summary

Recology San Mateo County in San Carlos, CA is seeking a Driver responsible for efficient operation of assigned vehicle, safety procedures, and maintaining strong customer relations across service areas.

You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections, load materials per procedures, comply with load limits and regulatory requirements, and support a waste-zero mission through reliable, courteous service.

Qualifications

• One year of commercial driving experience (Two years preferred).
• Principles and practices of job site safety and state/local regulations including waste regulations.
• Basic computer programs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current commercial driver's license and a current valid medical card.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections.
• Operates vehicle in assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads all assigned materials according to procedures and reports violations to supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Maintains compliance with legal load limits for transported materials.
• Reports accidents and safety violations promptly.
• Maintains positive customer relations and supports the company’s community image.
