Job summary

Recology in Portland is seeking a vehicle operator to ensure safe, efficient operation and consistent adherence to safety procedures across service areas, while maintaining positive customer relations.

This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 5:30am–2:00pm, with responsibilities including daily pre-trip inspections, proper loading, and compliance with legal load limits, aimed at supporting Recology's waste-zero mission.

Qualifications

• One year of commercial driving experience.
• CDL license and valid medical card.
• Familiar with safety regulations and waste handling.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily safety checks and pre-trip inspections.
• Operates vehicle in service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads materials per procedures and reports violations.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Ensures loads comply with legal limits.
• Reports accidents or safety violations promptly.
• Maintains positive customer relations across service areas.
