Job summary

Recology in California is seeking a route driver to manage daily vehicle operations with emphasis on safety and efficiency. You will perform pre-trip inspections, load materials, and ensure compliance with waste regulations while maintaining positive customer relations across service areas.

The role requires CDL, a valid medical card, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays in various weather conditions. Training and benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• One year of commercial driving experience (two years preferred).
• Principles and practices of job site safety, potential hazards, and state/local regulations including applicable waste regulation.
• Basic computer programs.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current commercial driver’s license and a current valid medical card.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily routine safety checks and pre-trip inspections on the assigned vehicle.
• Ensures safety measures for operation of the vehicle are consistently applied.
• Operates vehicle in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner.
• Loads all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and reports violations to supervisor.
• Ensures hazardous materials are not accepted, as able.
• Assures materials transported comply within legal load limits.
• Reports all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority in a timely manner.
• Maintains good customer relations and positively influences the community’s perception of the Company.
