Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a professional CDL driver to operate tractor-trailer trucks on designated routes, collecting solid waste and recyclables. You will secure loads, close tarps, and ensure no loose trash remains in the trailer.

Responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting weight and trailer numbers, and reporting any mechanical issues to supervisors. Maintain a clean, safe vehicle and comply with all safety regulations while on route.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must possess a valid CDL license.
• Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must be able to meet relevant criteria for safety sensitive functions according to Company standards.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer truck on assigned route to collect solid waste and recyclables.
• Ensure loads are secured and tarps closed.
• Record trailer numbers and net weight after dumping.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and complete required reports.
• Report any vehicle mechanical issues to supervisor immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and comply with safety regulations.
