Job summary

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, Inc. is seeking a Waste Room Operator to transfer waste from production lines to the correct receptacles in the waste room, ensuring safe handling of finished and waste products in a fast-paced environment.

You will follow GMP procedures, wear PPE, and maintain waste trackers, while learning and teaching waste handling skills and supporting plant safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Aptitude for automated mechanical processes with good troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• One-year related experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Transfer waste from production lines to correct waste or recycling receptacles in the waste room.
• Follow proper cleaning procedures for each piece of equipment in the waste room.
• Protect and store cleaned equipment to prevent contamination.
• Handle chemicals with proper training, wearing correct PPE.
• Follow GMP procedures around PPE and waste room access.
• Measure waste and record it on waste trackers.
• Participate in learning and teaching waste handling skills.
