Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform pre- and post-operation inspections, monitor waste, and report repairs to keep operations efficient and compliant.

Based in California, this on-site role requires OSHA awareness, strong customer service, and a commitment to safety and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Professional, courteous interaction with customers and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment per policy.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Document minor maintenance and report repairs.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and daily safety checks.
• Keep shop clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
